Return to the NCGenWeb Archives Table of Contents http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm#NC ****************************************************************** Will of Andrew Russell Whereas Andrew Russell of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina, well knowing the uncertainty of life and certainty of death and being somewhat advanced in life and weak in body but of sound mind and memory do think proper to leave the following lines as my last Will and Testament principally and first of all I recommend my soul to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth to be buryed in a Christian like manner at the descrition of my Executors hereinafter named -- And as touching what worldly substance it has pleased God to bless me with it is my will to dispose of in the following manner. viz: 1st I give and bequeath to my beloved son Andrew Russell the plantation whereon he now lives as it now stands divided or laid of to him and his heirs forever. 2ndly I give and bequeath to son Daniel Russell the plantation whereon he now lives as it stands divided or laid off to him and his heirs forever. 3ly I give and bequeath to my son James Russell ten dollars to be paid out of my estate after the death of my wife. 4thly I give and bequeath to my son Elijah Russell on hundred and fifty three acres of land adjoining Moses Conners lands Charles Ozments lands & Temple Ballingers lands to him and his heirs forever. 5ly I give and bequeath to my loving wife Sarah Russell the use and benefits of the whole plantation whereon I now live, my mare named Fly, Two Cows the choice of my Stock, four hogs her choice, four sheep her choice also two beds and there furniture, one pewter dish and six pewter plates and as much of the kitchen furniture as she may think proper for and during her natural life. And all the balance of my estate after paying my just debts and funeral expenses to be sold and equally divided between my five daughters, namely Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy, Sarah, and Anna all except Sarah is to have thirty dollars less than the others and at the death of my wife Sarah Russell the plantation left for her use and all the other property that may remain at that time to be sold and the money equally divided between my five aforementioned Daughters. Lastly I will and appoint my two beloved sons Andrew Russell and Daniel Russell Executors of this my last will and testament ratifying and allowing whatsoever they may lawfully do or cause to be done in witness whereof I have hereunto set my had and seal this 24 day of October 1828.
