Peacock, Wilson, NC ~Page 2~ Willis Johnston was son of Sterling Johnston of Warren County, NC Served as Captain of 8th Co Detached from Granville Regt. Second Brigade, Richard Atkinson Col Com (Muster Roll, Soldiers of War of 1812)(Detached from Militia of NC 1812-14) - attained rank of Colonel during this war Margaret Moseley Binford, his wife, was daughter of James Binford and Nancy Jane Walker, and had brothers John A. and James R. Binford, she was born in 1798 Her mother married 2nd (Benjamin) Campbell, lived in Halifax County, and had Martha, Louisa, Frances, and C.C. Pinckney Campbell. The latter was executor of a will in 1835, so must have then been 21 years of age Parents of Nancy Jane Walker lived in Greensville Co, Va James Binford was brother of John Moseley Binford of Northampton County - named executor of his will ~Page 3~ High Sheriffs of Halifax County, North Carolina These names appear in the Court minutes on the dates given: John Jones - accounts settled for years 1782-1783 Doctor Charles Pasteur - 1784, Nov 1st 1785 John Geddy - Bond 5000£ Feb 21 1786 Feb 1787 John Geddy resigned, court appointed in his place John Whitaker - Feb 1787 Peter Morgan - 1796, serving Mar 10 1799 Matt H.
