Know ye that I Millie Hyde of the county of Halifax in the state aforesaid for and in consideration of the good will and affection which I have and do bear unto my grandson John Hyde son of Henry Hyde, I do by these presents give & grant unto my said grandson John Hyde of Halifax County to him & his heirs forever a certain negro fellow known by the name of Anthony now agged about 16 yers & also I do further give and grant unto the said John Hyde one negro woman named Sue, & also one negro boy named Ferril a boy now about three or four years also one young sorrel mare & one feather bed & furniture, together with all and every of my household funiture of whatever kind or quality it be to te aforesaid John Hyde his heirs and assigns forever now being in my possession to be & remain his absolute good & chattels before mentioned to him the said John Hyde his heirs & assigns forever, without any manner of condition whatsoever, only this that the said Milly Hyde do continue the nice & services of all & singular the aforementioned articles during her natural life & I also give in the like manner unto my grandson Richard Hyde son of Henry Hyde one negro boy named Allen at seven years old to him, his heirs forever & I also give in the like manner unto my grandson Henry Hyde son of Henry Hyde one negroe boy named Eaton at five years old to him & his heirs forever, I also in like manner unto my so Henry Hyde one negroe fellow name Abraham & also one bay horse to him & his heirs forever. I likewise give and grant unto my son Hartwell Hyde one negro fellow named Will, one ditto lu named Ned, one negro woman named Agg & one bay horse. I in like manner give and grant unto my grandson Richard Hyde son of Hartwell Hyde one negroe woman named Bett and also one negro girl named Lela & one negro boy named Woodley, children of the aforesaid which I also give and grant unto my granddaugher Milly Hyde daughter of Hartwell Hyde my negro woman named Annesa. I also give unto my grandson Blount son of Hartwell Hyde a child of late bone one negro girl named Priscilla. I give unto my daughter Sophy the sum of t___ shillings current money and also to Chany Parson the sum of twent shillings of the like money.
