HALIFAX COUNTY, NC REGISTER OF DEEDS DEED BOOK 18?, PG. 422-423 13 FEB 1799 / FEB CT. 1799 REC'D. 13 MAY 1799 John Taylor to Thomas Curlin Deed This indenture made this thirteenth day of February Anno Dom One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Nine between John Taylor of the State of No. Carolina & County of Halifax of the one part and Thos. Curlin of the afsd. County of the other part ??? forth that the said Jno. Taylor for the ????? of the sum of three hundred pounds good and lawful money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Curlin the recpt for the said sum of three hundred pounds the said John Taylor hath given Granted Bargained & Sold alined? & confirmed & by these present doth give grant Bargain Sell alien? & confirm the said Thos. Curlin his heirs & assigns forever one Certain track of Land Containing by Estimating three hundred & thirty acres lying on the north side of Breeches Swamp Bounded as follows Beginning at the said Swamp on a pine then No 156 ps/po? to a black jack on Thos. Hux line by his line East 14 ps/po? to a red oak then by his line No 42 ps/po? to Francis Drakes corner oak then by Drakes line East to a corner black gum in a meadow thence So along a line of marked trees to a black gum in the said Swamp thence up the Swamp to the first Station. To have & to hold the aforesaid three hundred & thirty acres of land be the same more or less with the use claim & demand Estate reversion & Interest which the said John Taylor have or shall have in & to the said Track of Land with all singular rights appertinances to the sd Thos. Curlin his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof? of the said Thos. Curlin his heirs & assigns forever & the said John Taylor for himself & his heirs & assigns shall warrant the said three hundred & thirty acres of Land against himself & his heirs forever & against all & every person or persons laying any just claim or right or title to the said land.
