The Scotland Neck Mounted Rifles
The Standard of Raleigh, June 26,  1861
THE SCOTLAND NECK MOUNTED RIFLES
   This splendid company of Dragoons, commanded by CAPT. P.M. EDMONDSON was 
mustered into the service of the State by MAJ. W.J. CLARKE at Clarksville, 
Halifax County on the 14th inst. , and left for Wilmington on the following 
Monday.
   The company numbers about 70 fine young men, superby mounted. They are 
aremed with sabres, pistols and  double-barrel shotguns.
