North Carolina Journal, 13 Feb 1793

On the Premises in one Lot, will be sold on Saturday the 23d day of Feb. next

That valuable Plantation commonly known by the name of NEW HOPE situated about 
two miles above the town of Halifax containing upwards of 500 acres; three-
fourths of the same belonging to the estate of Charles Gilmour, deceased, the 
other one-fourth to the estate of John Gilmour, deceased. 

Six months credit will be given for one-third, twelve months for one-third and 
eighteen months for the other one-third. Bond with sufficient security will be 
required and if not punctually paid to bear interest from the date. The 
aforesaid Plantation is well improved with an elegant two-story dwelling-house 
and all other out-houses necessary for the reception of a genteel family.
