The Semi-Weekly Messenger (Wilmington NC) February 15, 1898
Enfield Enterprise: Mr John Neville, a section master on section No. 2, on the
Tarboro branch, became enamored of the charms of a pretty young girl in his
neighborhood, and on last Monday, without warning to anyone, he eloped with her,
leaving wife, children, job and all behind.
