All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com March 22, 2008, 1:44 am Edenton Gazette, July 6, 1810 July 6, 1810 The public are hereby informed that the English School commenced in this Academy on the 26th day of this month, where English Grammar, Arithmetic, etc., will be taught for 12, and Geography, the use of the Globes, and the various branches of the Mathena sticks, for $15 per annum; one half of which is to be paid at the end of six months.—A teacher of the French, Latin, Greek and Hebrew Languages, will also be employed as soon as possible. – The academy is well constructed and situated in about six miles of NORFLEET’S Ferry, in Halifax County; near the centre of a healthy plentiful neighborhood, where good board, etc. can be had for $50 a year; besides there will be a house erected by the first of June next, at the Academy, for the special purposes of accommodating those who may prefer boarding at it.
