ANNIE LEWIS MILES BAUGHAM

   Mrs. Annie Miles Baugham, 66, died at her home in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., 
February 20, after fifteen years of ill health. She was an invalid for ten years 
although she wasn't confirmed to her bed but 14 months. Through her suffering 
she always carried a cheerful face.

   She was the daughter of the late M. Watson Miles and Sue Pope Miles of 
Southampton County.

   Mrs. Baugham joined Whiteheads Methodist Church at the age of 12, where she 
held her membership until death.

   She married Romie B. Baugham of North Carolina in 1907 and after several 
years they moved to North Carolina to make their home. She is survived by her 
husband, three sons, Langhorn, Larry, and Pvt. Floyd Baugham; two daughters, 
Mrs. Gladys Mosely and Miss Grace Baugham of Roanoke Rapids; one sister, Miss 
Lillian Miles, one brother, R.S. Miles, both of Boykins, two grandchildren and 
several nieces. Funeral services were conducted February 22, at 2:30 at the home 
of Miss Lillian Miles by Rev. L.D. Stables. "Nearer My God to Thee" was sung by 
Mrs. E.B. Prince and Rev. L.D. Stables. At the grave, "In the Sweet Bye and Bye: 
was sung by Mrs. Prince, Rev. Stables, Mrs. W.C. Nurney, Mrs. R.A. Ballard and 
Mrs. Elvin J. Story. Active pallbearers were: Eugene Lee, R.H. Walton, Fletcher 
Hand, Walter Baugham, Mr. Wrenn and Mrs. Collins.
