Rudolph Evans of Roanoke Rapids assisted by the Rev. Stanley C. Burgess of Richmond. Burial was in Cedarwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Maxie Clippard, Lester Whitby, Jimmie Bryant and Earnest Bryant. Coggsdale, 63, died Wednesday morning in Roanoke Rapids Hospital after illness of several months. A native of Southampton County, Va., he lived here 40 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Alice Whitby Coggsdale and a son of James Ellis and Mrs. Nettie H. Coggsdale. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Janet Little of Roanoke Rapids and Mrs. Marjorie Nebinger of Newport News; two brothers, Luther Coggsdale of Franklin and J.Ray Coggsdale of Courtland; four sisters, Mrs. Kate C. Bryant of Franklin, Mrs. Pearl C. Bracey of Ivor, Mrs. Maggie C. Burgess and Mrs. Sadie Bryant of Courtland.
