The Semi-Weekly Messenger (Wilmington NC) 13 Dec 1898
Mr E G Hix was caught in the belting at the cotton mill at Roanoke Rapids on the
30th of November and so badly injured that he died this morning. He was would
around the shafting, and several bones were broken.
