SAMUEL VIVIEN HOLCOMBE

   A funeral service for Samuel Vivien Holcombe, 63, who died in a Baltimore 
hospital following a heart attack was conducted Wednesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in the 
Wrenn Funeral Chapel, Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

   Mr. Holcombe was the husband of Mrs. Josephine Vincent Holcombe and the son of 
the late James Littleton and Mrs. Melinda Joyner Holcombe of Southampton County. 
He had resided in Baltimore for the past 30 years.

   Surviving besides his widow are a number or nieces and nephews in and around 
the Franklin-Suffolk area.

   Interment was in the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery near Roanoke Rapids, 
N.C.

   Active pallbearers were J. Braxton Holcombe, C.J. Holcombe, Lionel L. Edwards, 
L.P. Clary Jr., Edgar Blythe, L.B. Battle, Fenton Worrell and E. Harrell Whitley, 
Jr.
