Williams Hunter, widow of Walker F. Hunter, age 65, died in a Wilson, N.C., hospital Tuesday, February 8, after a long illness. Mrs. Hunter was a native of Courtland, the daughter of the late Clarence Cooper and Jane Eliza Yates Williams, but had lived the greater part of her married life in Enfield, N.C. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Clyde Hunter of Enfield, N.C., and Mrs. Frank Montgomery of Carolina Beach, N.C.; four sons, Dr. William C. Hunter of Wilson, N.C., Walker F. Hunter, Jr. of Rochester, N.Y., Dr. Thomas M. Hunter of Henderson, N.C., and Lieut. James F. Hunter, U.S.N.R., of Elk City, Oklahoma, and four grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. J.E. Whitfield of Richmond and Mrs. W.N. Thornton of Courtland, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Enfield Episcopal Church. Relatives from the county attending the funeral were: Mrs. W.N. Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Clements and Miss Mabel Kitchen of Courtland; Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Briggs, Mrs. P.B. Davis and Mrs. E.L. Marks of Sebrell, and Mrs. C.L. Bailey of Sedley. *Father should be Charles Cooper Williams - Clarence Cooper Williams was her brother that died at age 2.
