CAROL KENT JOHNSON

   RAIFORD, N.C. – A funeral service for Carol Kent Johnson, 30, of 706 Niven 
Avenue, Raiford, N.C. was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Powell Funeral Chapel in 
South Boston by the Rev. W.S. Wallace and Father Vernard Murphy.

   Johnson died Monday in a plane crash in N.C.

   His wife, Nancy McKenzie Johnson is a former resident of Franklin.

   Born in Lynchburg, Johnson was employed as a billing supervisor of the 
Knitaway Corporation.

   He was the son of Newton F. Johnson and Lillian Gilliand Johnson.

   He was a member of Stanton River Baptist Church and a graduate of VPI in 
Blacksburg.

   Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters Pamela Ann and Shelley 
Elizabeth Johnson, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Newton F. Johnson of Halifax, one 
brother Ted Johnson of Falls Church and his maternal grandmother Mrs. Ruth 
Gilliand of Charlotte.
