JOSEPH ANDERSON LEE

  BOYKINS - Funeral services for Joseph Anderson Lee Sr., 61, who died Saturday 
at Halifax Memorial Hospital, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., were conducted Monday at 3 
p.m. at the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, with the Rev. W. Chreston Holoman, 
pastor of the Branchville, Baptist church officiating.
  Burial was in the Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
  Lee was a native of Southampton County. He was a son of Mrs. Lula Mae Smith Lee 
and the late William Anderson Lee, and the husband of Mrs. Nora Wade Lee of 
Branchville.
  He operated a truck freight line, and was a member of the Branchville Branch 
Church.
  Besides his wife and mother, Lee is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Kee 
of Branchville, and Miss Barbara Jean Lee of Greenville, S.C.; two sons, Joseph 
Anderson Lee, Jr. of Emporia, and Jimmy Wayne Lee of Branchville.; two brothers, 
Frank E. Lee and J. Wallace Lee, both of Boykins; one sister, Mrs. Callie L. Long 
of Margarettsville, N.C. and six grandchildren.
  Active pallbearers were Harold Goodwyn, Southgate Lee, Joseph Lee, Joseph 
Washington, Linton Grizzard and Hunter Ford.
