Rawlings, occurred at her home in Weldon, N.C., Saturday night, April 5, after a heart attack. Mrs. Rawlings was the daughter of the late Harvey Barnes and of Mrs. Ella Fleetwood Barnes of Severn, N.C. She spent much of her early life in the Branchville community. Graduating from the Roanoke Rapids Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Rawlings was in charge of one of the hospital floors for a number of years until a few months ago, when ill health forces her to retire from duty. She was a member of the Weldon Baptist Church. In 1925 she married Harry M. Rawlings of this county, a brother of the late E.E. Rawlings of Capron. Besides her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ella Barnes of Severn; by three sisters, Miss Neelie Barnes of Severn, Mrs. Charles Corbitt of Franklin, and Mrs. J.N. Lilley of Gatesville, N.C., also by three brothers, H.C. Barnes of Norfolk, J. Wilmer Barnes of Jackson, N.C., and Claude K. Barnes of Drewryville. Funeral services were conducted from the Weldon Baptist Church on Monday afternoon, April 7, by the Rev. Worth C. Grant, followed by burial in Cedarwood Cemetery, Weldon.
