Wife MARTHA BRINKLEY - land I purchased of Halifax Superior Court with reference to a deed from the Clerk and Master JOSEPH L. SIMMONS, it being the land where DAVID CARWLEY, JR. formerly lived; also all the land I obtained by her in marriage; also Negros I got from the JOHN KNIGHT estate. If wife leaves no child who becomes of age or dies without issue, she is to receive a larger portion of money. All property loaned to my wife shall be in the care of my executors for the benefit of my wife and my mother MARY BRINKLEY and the education of my children should I have any. Balance of property to be held in trust for my wife by my worthy friends COL. ISHAM MATTHEWS, THOMAS P. MATTHEWS and WILLIAM BRINLEY.
