Copy received from North Carolina State Archives.] [No heading] I Matilda Daniel of the county of Halifax & State of North Carolina being in feeble health but of sound and disposing memory do make and ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following viz: Item first. I give & bequeath unto my mother Margaret Daniel negroes Becky & Lucinda. Item second. I give and bequeath unto my sister Emily [Heath ?] to her sole and separate use free from the liabilities & control of her husband negroes Candis and Newton & also my interest in negroes Harrison & Oliver. Item third. I give and bequeath unto my sister Eliza Skelton to her sole & separate use free from the liabilities and control of her husband, negroes Charlotte and her children Penny & Winny. Item fourth. I give & bequeath unto my sister Maria Daniel negro Clinton & also deliver unto her my said sister Maria & her heirs forever all my inter-est in the real estate of my deceased father. Item fifth. I give & bequeath unto my sister Martha negro Dianna & also my interest in the carriage now in the possession of the family. Item sixth. I give & bequeath unto my sister Amanda negro Jim. And lastly after the payment of my debts out of the money & debts belonging to and due to me it is my will & desire that the residue as well as the residue of any property belonging to me and specifically devised & bequeathed to be devided among my mother & sisters share & share alike, the portions of my sisters Emily & Eliza to their sole & separate use severally in the same manner as the specific legacies bequeathed to them.
