All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jean Mayo Hirsch jhirsch4890@sbcglobal.net March 26, 2008, 3:43 am Source: Halifax County Wills, 1758-1824 Book 1, Page 22 Written: December 20, 1760 Recorded: March 1761 North Carolina State Archives Halifax County Wills, 1758-1824 Book 1, Page 22 C.047.80001 William Green Will In the Name of God Amen I William Green of Halifax County being sick of Body but of a sound and perfect minde and memory thanks be to Almighty God and call the uncertain state of this transitory Life and that all yield unto death When it shall please God to call I do make ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner following Imprimus I Recomend my sole into the Hands of almighty God my Savior Jesus Christ Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again and for my Body I recom to Earth to be Decently enterred at the Discretion of my Ex to after named and for my temporal Estate I give Devise and of the same as followeth Item I Desire that all my just Debts and funeral Expenses to first J and allowed Item I Give unto my Son William Green five shillings sterling Item I Give unto my son Inlaw Benjamin Saxon five shillings sterling Item I Give unto my Grand Son William Saxon thirty shilling Item I Give unto my son Thomas Green my horse he has in posestion Item I Give unto my son John Green my Lands Lying Between the gum pond and River Item I Give to my Daughter Amy Green my still and the land I now Live on Item I Give unto son Robert Green the Plantation and all the Lands above the Gum pond and my Negro man Daniel and two Beds and all the rest of my Worldly Estate when and where soever to be found and I do make my son Robert Green sole Executor of this my last will and Testament, and I do revoke all and every former Will by me made Ratifing and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my Seal this Twentyth Day of December one thousand seven hundred and Sixty his Wm ( ) Green (seal) mark Test ye James Lovel Junior Morning Beck Halifax County -------------March Court 1761 This will was Exhibited in Open Court and proved by the Oaths of James Lovel and Mourning Beck two of the Subscribing Witnesses and on motion Ordered to be Recorded the same time Robert Green Executor therein named appeared in Court and was Duly qualified According to Law.
