        DEATH OF MR. E. A. DOUGLAS
   -- We regret to have to announce the death of this gentleman, former Chief 
Engineer of the Cape Fear and Deep River Navigation Company, in this State. He 
died suddently in Philadelphia, on the 23rd of December last, of disease of 
the heart. At the time of his death he was the Superintendent and Engineer of 
the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Co.
