A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Main Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member. A private interment will be in Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh. The youngest of seven sons of the late, James Carl and Mamie Lee Langdon of Coats, he attended Smithville High School and the University of North Carolina, and before retirement, was facilities projects director for Rockingham County. Prior to coming to Rockingham County, he was projects manager for OBrien / Atkins Architectural Firm for the construction of the North Carolina Museum of History, Raleigh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 109 AF&AM, Beaufort, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S.J. U.S.A. Valley of New Bern Orient of North Carolina, and the Sudan Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of New Bern. Surviving are his wife, Sally High Langdon of the home; two brothers, W.M. Langdon of Dunn, Marcus Langdon of Orlando, Fla. The family will receive friends informally at the residence. Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 221 South Main St., Reidsville, N.C. 27320. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Langdon family.
