Devised July 6, 1886, State of North Carolina Harnett County I Eldridge Stewart of the County and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say; First, That my executors hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends, and pay all funeral Expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into their hands as a part or parsel of my Estate. Item, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife and my single daughters Mary A Stewart, Hariett J. Stewart, Florence D. Stewart, and Leo. C. Stewart Four Hundred and Five acres of land Known as the tract on which I now live during their natural lives, widowhood, or virginity, then to be equally divided between my sons B. F. Stewart and J. W. Stewart all three of my sons J. M. Stewart, B. F. Stewart, and J. W. Stewart to have a home on said tract of land as long as they can agree among themselves and not dispossess their mother and sisters. Item, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Delaney Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my daughter Mary C. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my daughter Hariett J. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my daughter Florence D. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my daughter Leo. C. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my son J. M. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my son B. F. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my son J. W. Stewart one bed and furniture. Item. I give and devise to my son C. J. Stewart Two Dollars; to my daughter Sallie A. Coats Two Dollars; to my daughter Betty J. Turlington Two Dollars; Mildred F. Barnes Two Dollars which sum together with the advancements already made to them will make them a fair and equitable portion of my Estate. Item. All the balance of my personal property, provisions, crops, and livestock after all the debts and other expenses of settling the Estate are paid to be divided among my beloved wife my Four single daughters and my three single sons as the executor things will be best to their advantage. I desire my executors to sell the Four acre tract of land adjoining the lands of J. R. Kennedy, W. B. Pate and others and apply the proceeds to my debts, and the balance if any to be divided among my beloved wife my Three single sons and my Four single daughters equally. And I do nominate constitute and appoint my Brother Daniel Stewart and my son J. M. Stewart my lawful executors to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intents and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In witness where of I the said Eldridge Stewart do hereunto set my hand and seal, this 6th day of July 1886. E.
