Guthrie n/a December 30, 2009, 5:37 pm Source: Nc Archives Written: 1813 State of North Carolina } Haywood County } Personally appeared before me William Dover one of the Justices of the Peace for the county aforesaid, William Cathey and after being solemly sworn in due form of law deposeth and saith that he is the William Cathey son of George Cathey alluded to in the Last Will and Testament of George Cathey formerly of Burke County in said state dec'd. And he claims a guard right of land in West Tennessee under the Last Will and Testament of the said deceased and that if any warrant or survey hath ever issued for the said claim it is lost or so mislaid that it had never been in possession of this deponent nor hath he ever rec'd any benefits from said claim nor any other person for him. Sworn to and subscribed before me this first day of November 1814. William Cathey /s/ William Dover, Justice of the Peace [separate form] This day William Polk came before me one of the Justices of Peace for the county of Wake and being sworn in due form of law deposeth and sayeth, that he was acquainted with George Cathey; that he traveled with him in the month of Dec'r 1782 to the now State of Tennessee - that he the said George attended Genl.
