All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Daniel McDowell deed to Hezikiah Allison June 25, 1812 This indenture made this twenty fifth day of June and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between Daniel McDowell of the State of North Carolina. Aforesaid witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty five dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and conveyed unto the said Hezikiah Allison a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Haywood and State of North Carolina and on the West side of Jonathan Creek. Beginning on a white oak DND and running thence two hundred poles to a stake North, thence East one hundred and sixty poles to a stake, thence South two hundred poles to a stake, thence West one hundred poles to the beginning, being all that tract of two hundred acres Granted to the said Daniel McDowell by William Hawkins, Govenor, bearing date 15th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven which will more fully appear by said Grant together with all its ways, woods, waters, and water courses, heredetaments and appurtanences hereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said Hezikiah Allison, his heirs, executors, and administrators or assigns forever. He, the said Daniel McDowell, do further bind himself, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns unto the said Hezikiah Allison, his heirs, and assigns to warrant and forever defend from himself, his heirs and all, and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming said tract. In witness whereof the said Daniel McDowell hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year first above written, signed, sealed, and delivered in the presence of us, Daniel McDowell (seal) William L.
