Stanley James assisted by Dr. Thomas W. Lane. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave. Burial was in the church cemetery with Bryant Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were members of Junaluska Masonic Lodge No. 145 A F & A M. Cunningham, 92, died Monday, Jan. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in a Franklin, N.C., hospital after an illness of one years. A son of the late Rufus and Mrs. Sally Campbell Cunningham, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Stillwell Cunningham of Haywood County, to whom he was married 60 years. A retired saw mill operator and U.S. Forester, he was a 50 year member of Junaluska Masonic Lodge No. 145 A F & A M of Franklin, N.C. He was a charter member and one of the founders of Carson Chapel Methodist Church of the community in which he lived. Surviving are two sons, C.M. Cunningham, Winston-Salem, N.C. and James P. Cunningham of Franklin, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. C.M. Basser of Franklin, Va., Mrs. E.M. Davis, Winston-Salem, N.C., Mrs. J.R. Ray, Franklin, N.C., and Mrs. M.G. Willing, College Park, Md.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
