WILL   OF   SOLOMON  MESSER
	In the name of God, Amen, the 11th day of October in the year of our 
Lord , one thousand eight hundred twenty four, SOLOMON  MESSER  of North 
Carolina and Haywood Co.  Gentleman, being very weak in body but of perfect 
mind and memory, thanks be giving to God for the same and calling to mind the 
mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men onst to die, 
do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say, 
Principally and first of all I recommend  my sole in to the hand of God that 
give it and for my body, I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christian 
like and decent manner at the discretion of the Executor, nothing doubting but 
at the In---- Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power 
of God and touching such worldly estate when with it hath pleased God to bless 
me this life and give devise and dispose of the same in form following, that 
is to say in the first place I give and bequeath to RACHAEL MESSER, my beloved 
wife all my household goods and chattles and tenaments, also all that I 
possess in this world injuring her natural lifetime, only she is to pay all my 
debts.  SALLY GIBSON I allow twenty five cents, JANE HERRIN I allow twenty 
five cents, ELIZABETH CLINE, I allow twenty five cents, and ANNY CRAWFORD 
twenty five cents.
	Also JOSEPH MESSER, PEGY MESSER, SOLOMON MESSER, JOHN MESSER, RACHAEL 
MESSER, HENRY MESSER, RUBEN MESSER and POLLY MESSER, these eight mentioned 
here last, I allow to have an equal share at the old woman's decs. and by her 
firstly to be the possessor and to enjoy and I do hereby utterly disallow, 
revoke and disannul all and every other forms, testaments, legacies, bequeaths 
and executors by me in any ways before this time. named, willed and 
bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and 
testament in witness where of  I here unto set by hand and seal the day and 
year above written.
	ELIJAH JOHNSON Executor with my wife signed, sealed , published, 
renounced and declared by the  afore as his last will and testament in the 
presence of us the subscribers that is today.
