Hertford County, NC - Deeds - Thomas Brickell to William Lewis, 1786 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thomas BRICKELL to William LEWIS, 4 January 1786 This Indenture this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Six between Thomas BRICKELL of Hertford County and State of North Carolina _f the one part and William LEWIS of Gates County and State aforsaid [o]f the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas BRICKELL for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds Current Money [o]f this State of North Carolina to him in hand paid by the Said William LEWIS before the Sealing and Delivering of these presents the Recept whereof he hereby Acknowledges, and Himself therewith [f]ully Satisfied, Contented and paid hath bargained And Sold and [b]y these presents Doth bargain sell Alienate infeoff Grant and [Con]firm unto the Said William LEWIS all that Messuage tenement Tract ___ plantation of Land Containing Eighty two acres as Appears by a [sur]vey taken of the Same Situated in Gates County Aforsaid being ___ Piece or parcell of Land whereon the Said Thomas BRICKELL form[erly] Dwelt begining at a White Oak Stump Near the Run at the fork [of?] the Road thence along Said Run North twenty Degrees West Eight ___ pole thence North forty Nine Degrees East Sixteen pole then along [sa]id Swamp by Various Courses to the old Mill Swamp thence up said [sw]amp by Various Courses to Jonathan LASSITERs Line thence along [sai]d LASSITERs Line to the first Station To Have and to Hold the ___ Messuage Lands Tenements and Heriditaments with all and Every ___ premises whatsoever hereby =Granted= Bargained or Sold or Mentioned ___ bargained and Sold with all and Every of their?
