BETTY SUE ODOM ASKEW

   WINTON, N.C. - Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Sue Odom Askew, 76, a native of 
Southampton County, was held at 2 p.m. Monday in Winton Baptist Church, with burial
in 
Crestwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, by Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
  Mrs. Askew died Saturday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.K. White of Halifax.
She 
was a daughter of Josiah and Mrs. Susan Odom and the wife of W.F. Askew. She was a
member 
of Winton Baptist Church.
   Other survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Gladys Askew of Eure; two sons,
Paul 
Ashew of Powellsville and Arthur Askew of Winton; 18 grandchildren and 28
great-grandchildren.
