JAMES NATHAN BAUGHAM

AULANDER – Funeral service for James Nathan Baugham, 90, of Hertford County, 
were held Tuesday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in 
the family burying ground near Aulander.
  The Rev. J.B. Folds, pastor of the Aulander Baptist Church and of the Pleasant 
Grove Baptist Church, officiated at the services.
  Mr. Baugham died Monday afternoon at the home of a son, George Baugham, in 
Cofield. He had been a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church since 1872 
and a deacon for 30 years.
  His wife, who died in 1914, was the former Martha Gardner.
  Surviving are six sons, Arthur of Newsoms, Va., Thomas of Aulander, William of 
Capron, Va., Jerod of Aulander, George of Cofield, and Craig Baugham of Ahoskie; 
two daughters, Mrs. Luther B. Knight of Aulander, and Mrs. J.N. Hall of Ahoskie; 
32 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
