ELLEN WARREN BENTON

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Ellen Warren Benton, 76, widow of James Edward Benton, 
died Thursday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital Franklin, after a brief 
illness.
A native of Hertford County, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Warren. 
She was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Homa Gordon and Mrs. John S. Cowan of 
Murfreesboro; two sons, Army Sgt. David C. Francis of Ft. Benning, Ga., and 
James H. Benton of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Warren and Mrs. Lila Vinson 
of Murfreesboro; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held in Meherrin Baptist Church Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial 
was in Murfreesboro Cemetery. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home had charge.
