MARIE HOWELL BLOUNT

   FRANKLIN – Mrs. Marie Howell Blount, 47, died in her home Friday morning.

   She was the widow of William Henry Blount Jr. and a daughter of Herbert and 
Mrs. Patty Sue Edwards Howell.

   She was a native of Como, N.C. and lived in Franklin 11 years. She was a 
member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

   She is survived by two sons, William Henry Blount III and George Lewis 
Blount of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Sue Sawyer of Petersburg and Mrs. 
Mary Donna Matthews of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. E.H. Harrell of Rich Square, 
N.C.; and a grandchild.

   A funeral service was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Mabe of Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial was in 
Buckhorn Church Cemetery, Como.

   Pallbearers were Joe Martin, Kenneth Brown, James Kotel, Carl Howell, Earl 
Howell and R.J. Taylor.
