Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Holland Funeral Home by the Rev. H. Warren Landis, pastor of New Hope Methodist Church, near Como. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. He was the husband of Mrs. Clara Hunt Brett of the home and son of the late William C. and Rosa Ann Ferguson Britt of Southampton County. He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Claude William Brett of Portsmouth and Joseph C. Brett Jr., of Suffolk; two daughters, Mrs. Cyrus D. Howell of Como and Mrs. Willie L. Burrow of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Nina Chitty of Suffolk, and 11 grandchildren. === JOSEPH CARVOSSO BRETT VIRGINIAN PILOT - 08-19-1960 RETIRED COMO MERCHANT Franklin - Joseph Carvosso Brett Sr., 75, well known retired farmer and merchant of Como, N.C., died in Raiford Memorial Hospital Wednesday night after an illness of many weeks.
