Mrs. Carpenter was a native of Como, North Carolina and had lived most of her life in Franklin, Virginia until moving to Lake City, Fla. seven months ago. She was a housewife and member of the High Street Methodist Church, Franklin, Va. Mrs. Carpenter had served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. I and was a member of the American Legion Post in Franklin, Va. Survivors include; her husband, Vandy Carpenter, Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Emmitt Edwards, Silver Springs, Maryland; one grandson, Ted Eason, Virginia Beach, va.; several other relatives also survive. FUNERALS CARPENTER, Virgie Ethel - Funeral services for Mrs. Carpenter will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Monday May 29, 1989 in the Chapel of Sherrill-Guerry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Cassidy officiating. Interment will follow in the Burlington- Santa Fe Cemetery near Branford, Fla. Sherrill-Guerry Funeral Home, 616 S. Marion St. Lake City, Fla. will be in charge of all arrangements.
