THE TIDEWATER NEWS – 01-05-1961, SECT.1, P. 5

   MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Miss Doris Chitty died Monday afternoon while working 
in the office at Whitley Hardware in Franklin,Va.

   She was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and was the daughter of the late 
John C. and Florence Park Chitty. She was a member of Murfreesboro Baptist 
Church.

   She is survived by one uncle, Hubert Chitty of Murfreesboro, and three 
aunts, Mrs. Daisy Griffin of Murfreesboro, Mrs. J.H. Barnes of Como, N.C. and 
Mrs. P.A. Jones of Franklin.

   A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Murfreesboro 
Baptist Church by  the Rev. Roland S. Pruett, pastor, and the Rev. Ira D. 
Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
