Wright, of Richmond, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bridgeman Joyner, who moved from Southampton County to Hertford County, North Carolina. She was an active member of Courtland Baptist Church until she moved to Richmond. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L.R. Vaughan of Murfreesboro, N.C.; and Mrs. Wright; three sons, Charlie S. Cooke of Murfreesboro; Guy P. Cooke of Maple, N.C., and Samuel D. Cooke, U.S. Army stationed at Miami, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were conducted from the Holland Funeral Home here Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock by the Rev. R. D. Stephenson, burial following in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were: C.C. Vaughan, 3rd, Harry Hassett, A.B. Cobb, C.W. Davis, L.M. Manry, Dr. E.F. Reese, Fred Barker and Herman Beale.
