ELSIE TRUITT DAUGHTRY

   A funeral service for Mrs. Elsie Truitt Daughtry, 76, was conducted Tuesday 
at 2:30 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roy Arnold, pastor of 
the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, Drewryville and the Rev. Rowland S. Pruitt 
of Murfreesboro, N.C. officiating.

   Burial was in the Riverside cemetery, Murfreesboro, N.C.

   Active pallbearers were: Roger Holloman, John Davis White, John Jarratt, 
Frank Spence, Bert Ramsey, Robert O. Grizzard, and Willie Sutton.

   Honorary pallbearers were Eldridge C. Faison and Fred Fischer.

   Mrs. Daughtry, a former resident of Drewryville and Murfreesboro, was a 
native of Salisbury, Md. and was a daughter of the late Jack and Mrs. Blanche 
Eure Truitt. She was the widow of Kelly Wells Daughtry. She was a member of the 
Thomas Memorial Baptist Church.

   Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Edith Powell of Portsmouth, Mrs. Emma 
Bennett, of Chesapeake; Mrs. Syble Bennette of Capron and Mrs. Margaret Watson 
of Coloma, Michigan; one brother, Adrian Eure of Newport News; one sister, Mrs. 
Mattie Griffin of Pennsylvania and thirteen grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren.
