AHOSKIE – Leon Edwards, 87, a native of Bertie County, died December 28, 2004, 
at his residence.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Conoconary Baptist Church by 
the Rev. Robert Horton. Burial will be in the Edwards family cemetery. Wilder’s 
Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
Leon Edwards was a member of Conoconary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Knight Edwards of the home; sons, James 
Edwards and Henry Edwards, both of Hampton, Va., Kenneth Edwards, David Louis 
Edwards and Elton Lee Edwards, all of Hexalena, and Johnny Edwards of 
Smithfield, Va.; daughters, Rosemary Edwards, Joann Harris, Linda Cowan and 
Juanita Cowan, all of Hampton and Judith Cox of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; 
and 14 great-grandchildren.
