JOSEPH BLOUNT FERGUSON

  COMO – Joseph Blount Ferguson, 81, died here Saturday night. He was the 
husband of Mrs. Rosa Railey Ferguson, and a son of the late Blount Ferguson 
of Como and Virginia Gilliam Ferguson of Meridian, Miss. He was a lifelong 
resident of Hertford County and a well-known farmer of this community. He 
was an active member of New Hope Methodist church and for many years served 
as steward, and was a member of the local school Board for several years. 
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons Joseph B. Ferguson Jr., Great 
Ridge, Va., and Frank R. Ferguson of Newport News, Va.; and three 
grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Caromild Folk, Mrs. Mary Pierce, both of 
Great Falls, Va., and Mrs. Florrie Ferguson, Como. Funeral services will be 
in the New Hope Methodist Church on Monday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by the 
Rev. Homer Warren Landis, pastor. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
