Born: May 14, 1956
Died: May 07, 2016

Como- Rose New Fowler, 59, a beloved wife, daughter, mother and grandmother, 
passed away at her home surrounded by her family on May 7, 2016. She was born in 
Williamsburg and was a former Inspector for the USDA. She was predeceased by her 
mother, Martha Dixon New, a daughter, Rose Ann, and a sister, Ann Lee New.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Tommy Lee Fowler of Como; her father, 
Calvin A. New of Como; two daughters, Spring Byrum (Rubin) and Tabatha Fowler, 
both of Como ; her son, Tommy Lee Fowler, II (April) of Como; three sisters, 
Brenda Hedgepeth of Ahoskie, Janet Davis of Como and Carolyn Pierce of Ahoskie; a 
brother, John A. New of Lasker ; eleven grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren; honorary children, Angela and Russell Putnam and David and Adam 
McMillion.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Williamsburg 
Memorial Park, 130 King William Dr., Williamsburg, VA. with the Rev. Sandy Outlaw 
officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 PM at 
Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. 4th Ave., Franklin, VA.
