BESSIE J. FREEMAN Mrs. Bessie J. Freeman died at her home. 129 Wellons street, at 4 a.m. today following an illness of two days duration. She was 67 years of age. Mrs. Freeman is survived by three daughters, Mrs. S. E. Hayes, Mrs. O. D Williams, both of Suffolk, and Mrs. E. H. Salter, of Mt. Vernon, N. Y.; two sons, R. E. Freeman, Marion, Ind. and Jenkins Freeman, of Perry Point, Md.: three sisters, Mrs. A, J Moore and Mrs. J. H. Freeman, of Gates. N. C„ and Miss Sallie Freeman of Gates County, N. C.; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday at 3:30 p. m., with the Rev. Dr. Harry Jeter Goodwin and the Rev. L. A. BESSIE FREEMAN Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Jenkins Freeman were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the residence 129 Wellons street, conducted by the Rev. H. J. Goodwin and Dr. N. G. Newman. A quartet composed of Mrs. W. A. Hart, Mrs. R. H. Jacobs, J. R. Vann and Rev. L. A. Harrison, accompanied by Miss Velma Carr, rendered the selections ‘Sometime We’ll Understand” and “It Is Well with My Soul.” A solo, “Face to Face” was sung by Oma H. Parker. There were many beautiful floral tributes, the casket was covered with a pall of white rose-buds and fern. Active pallbearers were George S. Swain. J. Will Jordan, John Freeman, J. R. Vann, H. L. Jacobs, J. S. Davis, Dr. J. E. Rawles, Anderson M. Maxey. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Interment was in Cedar Hill cemetery. NOTE: Born in Hertford Co., N.C.
