BESSIE FLORIDA FERGUSON HILL

BESSIE F. HILL RETIRED TEACHER

  MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Bessie Florida Ferguson Hill, 83, of the 500 block of East 
High St., a retired schoolteacher, died Dec. 21, 1991, in an Ahoskie hospital.

  Mrs. Hill was born in Hertford County and taught in North Carolina public 
schools. she was the widow of Haygood White Hill and a member of Murfreesboro 
United Methodist Church. she was a graduate of East Carolina College.

  Survivors include two sons, Dr. Johnny F. Hill of Oxford, Ohio, and Lt. Col. 
Walter W. Hill of Poquoson; three sisters, Virginia Kernodle of Brown Summit, 
Frances Beaver of Rogers, Ark., and Linda Mclam of Whiteville; three brother, 
William Ferguson of Huntingtown, Md., Fenton Ferguson of Murfreesboro and Joseph 
Ferguson of Raleigh; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

  The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Murfreesboro United Methodist 
Church by the Rev. Charles Hutchinson. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. 
Friends may join the family at 509 E. High St.  Memorial donations may be made to 
Murfreesboro Rescue Squad, Roanoke Chowan Hospital, or to the church. Garrett 
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
