JAMES HERMAN KING

   A funeral service for James Herman King, 78, of Nottoway Shores will be held 
today at 3 p.m. in Buckhorn Baptist Church by the Rev. M.J. McManus.

   Burial will be in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery.

   Pallbearers are Virgil Derby, Joe Griffin, Bernard Speight, Bill Jones, 
Julian Whitley, Harrell Covington, Jessie Harrison and Lewis Gray.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Delphine Davis 
King and a son of Nat and Mrs. Susan Jenkins King.

   He was a former employee of the City of Franklin.

   He was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church.

   Besides his widow, surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ella K. Lawrence and 
Mrs. Jessie Ann Story of Franklin, Mrs. Joyce M. Knight of Suffolk, Mrs. Susan 
E. Davidson of Calhoun, Ga., and Mrs. Helen K. Crowel of Midwest City, Okla; a 
son James H. King Jr. of Florida; and 22 grandchildren.
