ZOA STEPHENSON MADDREY

   HANDSOM – A funeral service for Mrs. Zoa Stephenson Maddrey was conducted 
Monday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel by the Rev. L.F. 
Smith, a former pastor. Burial was in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.

   Pallbearers were Howard Stephenson, Benjamin Bryant, Richard Stephenson, 
Franklin Bryant, Walter Franklin Drake and Claud King.

   Mrs. Maddrey, 84, died at her home Friday after a lingering illness.

   A native of Hertford County, N.C., she was the widow of Robert Samuel 
Maddrey and the daughter of the late Walter W. and Mrs. Nora Bogart Stephenson 
of Hertford County. She was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church and the Clara 
Speight Missionary Society.

   Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mattie B. Dunlow, Handsom; two 
grandchildren, K.B. Maddrey Jr., and Franklin M. Jefferson; four great-
grandchildren and one great-great –grandchild.
