Jan. 20, 1837  Charlotte Journal
   DEATH OF A MEMBER -- It was with sincere regret that we announce the death 
of GEORGE W. MONTGOMERY, the Senator from the County of Hertford, who died on 
Wednesday last, after a brief illness of a few days. On Thursday the remains 
of the deceased were carried to the Episcopal Church, where an impressive 
Discourse was delivered by the REV. GEORGE W. FREEMAN, pastor. After which, 
they were attended to the City Burial Ground.
