WALLACE COLUMBUS NURNEY

   CAPRON – Wallace C. Nurney, 72, died at his residence near here on Thursday, Aug.
22, after a long 
illness.
   Mr. Nurney was a farmer and a native of Hertford County, N.C.  He had resided in
this area many years. 
He was a son of the late Willie and Sallie Parker Nurney and the husband of Mrs.
Allie Gray Nurney.
   In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mae N. Vinson of
Murfreesboro, N.C., two brothers, 
Waverly W. Nurney of Courtland, and Leasure C. Nurney of Capron and several nieces
and nephews.
   The body was taken from the McDowell Funeral Home to the Beechwood Cemetery for a
graveside funeral 
service on Saturday August 24 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ben. B. Ussery, pastor of the
Boykins Baptist Church
officiating.
   Pallbearers were: Mack Albright, Carroll Barnes, Clyde Vinson, Ashby Nurney,
George Prince, and Elmo 
Rock. Friends of the family served as Honorary Pallbearers.
