RUTH NICHOLS HAMILTON

Ruth Nichols Hamilton, 85, of the 100 block of Green Meadow Drive, died 
June 5, 2004, in her residence.  A native of Hertford County, N.C., she was 
the daughter of the late Will F. Nichols and the later Ella Vaughan Nichols 
and the widow of Leo W. Hamilton. 

She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, Portsmouth.  Survivors include 
a daughter, Susie T. Parker and husband Ernest; a son, Edward Harrell and wife 
Patricia, all of Ahoskie, N.C.; a stepson, Billy Hamilton of Portsmouth; a 
sister, Evie Outlaw of Ahoskie; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  

A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens 
by the Rev. Tom Potter and the Rev. Terry Riddle.  The family will receive 
friends today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. 
Chapel, and will be at the residence at other times.
