Mr. Parker, who had been associated with his brother, Eugene L. Parker, in the machinery supply business since 1917, was well known to Franklin residents, having been employed about 40 years ago by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in its office here. As a representative of his firm he was a frequent visitor to local firms. A native of Mapleton, N.C., he was a son of the late J.H. and Mrs. Elzor Rawls Parker. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Ware Parker; one daughter, Mrs. Paul T. Collins, Jr., of Norfolk; one son Clyde L. Parker Jr., also of Norfolk; three sister, Mrs. L.C. Womack of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. C.P. Juro of Richmond, and Mrs. J.W. Crone of Washington, N.C.; and three brothers, J. Floyd Parker of Atlanta, Ga., Eugene Parker of Norfolk, and J.H. Parker of Burlington, N.C. Funeral services were conducted at the Cox Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock by Dr. Sparks W. Melton, pastor of the Freemason Street Baptist Church. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
