JESSE LINWOOD PARKER

   Jesse Linwood Parker, 65, husband of Mrs. Susie Harcum Parker, died in a 
Norfolk hospital Sunday morning, August 29, at 11:30 o’clock.

   Mr. Parker was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for 45 years. For a number of years he had been engaged in the cleaning 
and pressing business. He was a active member of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist 
Church and of its Sunday School.

   Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Miss Jessie Etta Parker, of 
Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Parker Jenkins and Miss Grace Parker of 
Murfreesboro; a brother, Elmer Parker, and his stepmother, Mrs. Blannie Parker, 
both of Murfreesboro.

   Funeral services for Mr. Parker were held at one o’clock Tuesday afternoon in 
Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church, Norfolk, followed by interment in the cemetery 
at the Sycamore Baptist Church, in this county.
