HARVEY BAYLIS PICOT

THE TIDEWATER NEWS – 09-28-1961, SECT. 2, P. 1

   Harvey Baylis Picot, 56, insurance agent, died Sunday on a visit to the 
home of his wife’s parents in Northampton County, N.C.

   A son of Guy Carlton and Rosalind Darden Picot of Como, N.C., he was a 
member of Franklin Baptist Church and lived here 20 years. He worked with 
Campbell Grocery Co., when he first came here and for the last 10 years was 
employed by Citizens Home Insurance Co.

   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Parker Picot; two 
daughters, Miss Betty Lou Picot and Patsy Kaye Picot of Franklin; two 
brothers, Hugh B. Picot of Como and Guy C. Picot of Franklin; and four 
sisters, Miss Antoinette Vann Picot, Miss Hannah B. Picot and Marietta B. 
Picot of Como, and Mrs. V.E. Tucker of Suffolk.

   A funeral service was conducted in Buckhorn Baptist Church Tuesday at 3 
p.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church and the Rev. E.E. 
Ballard of Buckhorn Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
