Mrs. Poteet was the daughter of the late John T. and Elizabeth Brown Minor of Kentucky, and the widow of Rev. John H. Poteet, for many years the pastor of Buckhorn Baptist Church at Como, N.C. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Laurel, Miss. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R.B. Sears of Holland and Mrs. S.L. Neeley of Wilmington, N.C.; one son, W.E. Poteet of Tarboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, John T. Minor, Jr., of Sparta, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at Buckhorn Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by the pastor, Rev. Austin Loving, assisted by Rev. J.C. Lanning, pastor of the South Quay Baptist Church, and Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin. Burial was in the church cemetery.
